Showcase of New Zealand Schools -
Showcase of New Zealand Schools are  schools that market together, with Suzette Eastmond from International Education Services, on different projects each year. In 2012 there will be a group marketing together in Europe in June and another group marketing in South Americal in September.

The current group of schools range in size and are located in both islands of our safe, beautiful country. Rural, semi-rural and city locations; co-educational and single sex state school;  all schools offer top-quality homestays and or farmstays with handpicked families.

Academic excellence, sporting success, strong performing arts programmes and specialist outdoor education or SeaSport programmes are the norm within New Zealand highschools. This group includes some schools with a strong affinity with the sea and surf, being located near to top surf breaks and pristine beaches. There are also urban based schools in this group who are in superb locations in Auckland and Christchurch.

New Zealand has so much to offer high school aged students from all over the world.  Our school year runs from late January until November/December so our winter is the Northern hemisphere's summer and vice versa. Students love to spend a Christmas at the beach or their  Northern summer time on our ski slopes.
The New Zealand government qualifications (NCEA) are recognized for entry to foreign universities.

Extra-curricular programmes include surfing, equestrian, mountain biking, sailing, kayaking, football, rugby, hockey, choirs, bands and drama. New Zealand students compete fiercely in regular competitions up to national level. There is a strong culture of participation in extra-curricular activities at schools, with staff expected to coach or mentor teams and activities out of hours.

New Zealand high schools welcome international students into their classrooms for academic year, semester or by the week programmes. Some schools also offer Academic Plus programmes where you can participate one day a week or an afternoon a week in a specialised extra-curricular programme such as sailing or golf or outdoor education. The presence of international students enhances the cultural, social and academic strengths of our schools and links our communities to the global community. The Government has clear policies on why it is of benefit to schools to attract international students.

Our Government supports these initiatives and regulates the industry closely, ensuring the safety of students by enforcing the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.

The next few pages have the details of each of the participating schools. You can contact the schools directly through their websites (click on international) or through the contact form on this website. We will put you in touch with the school agent.
